Do you prefer baths or showers?
On August 28, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
Top of the evening to ya. I’m out on Long Island tonight at my folks house and it’s nice to be in a quiet neighborhood, something that rarely happens back in Brooklyn. I’m definitely not complaining but once in a while I welcome some peace and quiet. My folks house is not on a major street so even cars passing by are few and far between.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers today with my pop. All the tests went well and we move on to another day. We ate lunch together, had a few laughs and I let hime listen to the two new Rhen tracks. I am blessed to have a family that has supported my music from the very beginning. My dad is a painter and my grandfather was a sculpltor so we know the life of the artist very well. At least I can’t blame my parents for not letting me know how tough the artist’s life is. lol! I’m kidding, I wouldn’t trade it for anything, even with the bumps and bruises.
So tonight’s question is one of sheer preference. Do you prefer baths or showers? I myself prefer showers. You’re in, you’re out, it’s a quick affair. Although once in a blue moon I actually take a bath, it’s definitely not often.
hope you’re having a great late afternoon.
much clean love

Where did you say you lived again?…
On August 28, 2008 in Daily Musing
Did not one city planner see this one? C’mon, you know he or she is laughing their ass off with this and they can’t believe it got approved. lol!
Good morning sweet folk. Another spectular day here in the big city and I am still lazying around in bed enjoying some quiet time before the day gets officially going. Today I am taking off work to take my pops to the doctor. Please keep him in your prayers as it’s been a rough time lately for him and my family. I am looking forward to seeing him and my mom and spending the day with them. It’s been hectic at work the past week and time has been limited.
Last night was fun because I had already crawled into bed but my friend called me up at 1am to see if I wanted to go for a quick snack run. If anyone knows anything about me is that I can’t turn down a late night run for anything. Well, maybe not drugs or to rob a bank, but anything else, I’m game! He works at a bakery at night and gets out late so once in a while we’ll hit the pool hall or grab some late night food.
Anyhoo, have a slpendid morning and I will see you all tonight.
much sunny love

Do you own a bicycle?
On August 27, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
Whew, am I tired! Today was a long work day and I am happy that it is over, or at least the work part of the day. I am off to play some soccer and energize up for the rest of the night. I have a lot of Rhen stuff to take care of tonight and I want to play some soccer, shower up, grab some food and get workin’. I have some interesting life changes that are happening at the end of the year and as they get closer to fruition I promise that will share them with you. I am really excited and looking forward to realizing those changes and seeing things from a new perspective, ya know?
What about you, whacha up to tonight? What’s cookin’ in your fine world? Hope you have a great time whatever you are doing or wind up doing. Tonight’s question is a good summer question and one that might even be more approppriate with the whole gas crisis: Do you own a bicycle? I, strangely enough do not. I’m always saying okay, this year I’m definitely getting one and I never do. I used to have one and it got stolen and I have yet to replace it. Maybe next year? lol!
have a gorgeous night my friends and do something to make this special, even if it feels like it’s not special at all, trust me, it is. And I say this to myself especially because although this year has proven to be a tough one so far, full of challenges and dissapointments, there is always something special to enjoy and be grateful for.

Maybe marriage isn’t for me…
On August 27, 2008 in Daily Musing
Now that sends a nice and clear message. lol! I was cracking up when I saw this. The funny thing is that it seems like it’s a really well made cake. This is no amateur production. Well, let’s hope they had better luck than that.
Good morning folks. I had a great night’s rest last night and althugh I am not thrilled about going to work, I am feeling quite energetic for the day so bring it on! Yesterday turned out to be a really productive night and I got a lot of stuff done that I had been putting off for a while. You know all those little paper filing things, unopened mail & organizational stuff that always seem to find their way to the bottom of the to-do list. Well, at least for me they do but yesterday I knocked them off and hopefully it will be a few weeks since I see them again.
Have a great and fun day today. It’s a nice and cool Wednesday here in NYC and I hope it’s a good one wherever you are as you read these words.
much sweet love

Are you afraid of heights?
On August 26, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
A plane leaves a trail of sound as it flies over my head and the sun is making it’s way ever so slowly towards the horizon. Yup, this is a good day. Simple, nothing out of the ordinary other than the reality that it is today and no other day. Sometimes, we look at yesterday and tomorrow and forget that today is right there, staring us right in the face. Well tonight, we choose to stare back and see what is good and what is the lesson for the day.
I can’t believe I didn’t mention it this morning, but the show on Sunday was a lot of fun and for me, one of the best sounding sound systems that I ever got to play through. The sound guy, Ken, was totally cool, upbeat and helpful, something rare in sound technicians and I was really grateful for that. I have some video footage that I will be editing tonight to show you as a video blog so be on the lookout for that. If you weren’t there, I must admit you missed one kick ass show but there will be more shows, I promise.
Tonight’s question is a classic and will never grow old: Are you afraid of heights?
My straight up honest answer is: absolutely! But, I do enjoy the rush of roller coasters, looking over a rooftop and things like that. When I am installing a sign on a tall ladder, then I don’t find the same thrill as if I was getting ready to get on a coaster, but work is work and you do what ya gotta do. What about you, scaredy cat or not?
have an absolutely perfect night and I will see you in the morning.
much high love

Book of Questions #77…
On August 26, 2008 in Book of Questions
Wow, what a morning! It’s been an intense few days and as I sit here, I know that I am slightly different, in a good way, but I can’t ignore that’s there have been many life lessons that have met me head on. The winds blows quite strongly this Tuesday morning here in NYC and the mood is quiet and peaceful. It feels as though the hustle and bustle has not officially started yet.
Last night went really well at the studio and we were able to finish the two new tunes and get them ready for the next step which is to prepare the videos for them. I am extremely happy with the results from the studio sessions and am looking forward to sharing the tracks with you very soon.
So this week’s question, although a day late, is still an important one that I like to ask often, and if you’ve ever sat over coffee with me or just had a summer night’s walk with me you’d know that this is a favorite of mine.
——————————————————
What is the last life lesson that you have learned?
——————————————————
My answer:
For me, this lesson was learned as recently as the past few days. Although as I mentioned before, there have been quite a few realization and lessons lately, I think the one that is strongest in my mind and heart right now is that no matter how hard you try to separate and organize things in your life, life comes at you all at once. I still live this delusion sometimes that one day, there’s going to be a time where everything is nice and neat into it’s own little section. My career, my family life, my social life, my finances, my love life, my emotional balance, my mental balance, my spiritual balance, my confidence, my productivity, my creativity, my favorite weather, free time, and on and on and on and on. And this of course is a small list of the things we hope we all magically align themselves someday. Actually, the lesson for me goes even a little bit deeper than the fact that life comes at you all at once, in fact, true wisdom is not only realizing that reality, but accepting that life IS dealing with all those things and not necessarily the act of putting them in order. I will not incriminate anyone else in my weakness but I will admit that I miss a lot of life trying to make it all nice an tidy and I’m not sure that’s the real goal anyhow. I had a great deep convo with my friend Rich last night and we spoke about not missing life amidst trying to do it just right. Live it out and soak it in and get close to those few that are around you and it should be a pretty good ride.
Well, that’s my little lesson for the week. What about you, what has life taught you lately?
have an absolute beautifully full day my friends
much love

Peaceful Brahms Sunday…
On August 24, 2008 in Peaceful Sunday
Sunny and 72° in NYC right now and it absolute perfection. There is a slight breeze whisking in through the windows and these are the days that I wish would visit us all year round. Yes, I know that’s a fantasy but it’s mine so back off. lol!
Hope your morning has started off extremely well. I had a good day yesterday as it was full of a little bit of everything. I went to play soccer early in the afternoon and pulled a muscle in my thigh. Nothing serious but I wasn’t doing too much moving around after that so I worked mostly on practicing for the show and watched a movie. We were playing for a long time in the midday sun and I went to sweep the ball away from one of the other players and I knew I had pulled something. Although I run often and am in pretty good shape, these are teenagers and guys in their early twenties who run like it’s an inexhaustible well. lol! They also play on Sunday mornings but I am sitting this one out because I want to make sure I am in tip top shape for the show tonight.
So today I am sharing an interesting little piece by Brahms performed by one of the legends when it comes to pianists, Artur Rubenstein. I have never been a huge Brahms fan, but I do like some of his piano pieces and this is one of them. Not overly serious or dramatic, just a cute little diddy that’s fun to listen to and I’m sure just as fun to play.
Have a beautiful morning and I won’t be seeing you tonight since I will be performing but I will see you all in the morning with a new ‘Book of Questions.”
much peaceful love

I knew cheerleaders were lethal!…
On August 23, 2008 in Daily Musing
See that, we always thought cheerleaders were just a pretty face but oh no, they are masters of the sword as well
Good Saturday morning to all. It is quite the sunny morning here in NYC. Funny enough that yesterday’s question should be about breakfast because I just had a big breakfast with my brother in-law. We hadn’t hung out in quite a while and we decided to grab some breakfast and catch up.
He is also from Argentina so we happily talked about the Argentine victory over Nigeria in the soccer finals from last night. That make two gold medals in a row, one from Athens and now in Beijing. I am sure it’s going to be a crazy day back in Buenos Aires and I wish I was there to experience it. I also watched the men’s beach volleyball final the other night and I was so happy that the US took the gold. They played an awesome game and totally killed in the third set 15-4! Unbelievable.
Hope your morning is a good one. I have to get a bit of work done and then I am heading over to the park to play some soccer and then right back home to get ready for tomorrow’s show. There are still a few things to get in order. Hope to see some of you there. If you need more info on the show, click here.
see you tonight
much love

What’s your favorite breakfast food?
On August 22, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
It’s not quite evening just yet but I am going outside to enjoy this spectacular day. It’s been a quieter day than expected here which is fine by me. Tonight should be fun as I am heading out later to eat some yummy junk food at the local summer feast that comes around once a year here on 18th Ave. My parents used to take us when we were kids and I remember playing all the silly little carnival games and winning stuffed animals, goldfish and plenty of other trinkets that seemed so fun at the time. I like to go back and walk through and just remember how excited we used to get seeing all the lights and games. Although I don’t play the games much anymore, I make sure to eat a lot of food and support the traveling cuisine, I gotta do my part, right. lol!
And on the subject of food, tonight I ask you, what is your favorite breakfast food? Although I like the occasional big breakfast, I am usually more of a bowl of cereal and glass of OJ kind of guy. The big breakfast I reserve when i know it’s going to be a lazy day.
Hope your night turns out wonderfully and that you have fun wherever you wind up going.
much early love

Add Your Caption Friday…
On August 22, 2008 in Add your caption Friday
Good Friday morning! Yes, the weekend has hit us square in the face yet again and it feels good. It’s been a bust month here for me and the weekends have provided a much needed peaceful block of time. Add to that our show at Southpaw on Sunday night and it adds up to my favorite type of weekend! If you’re thinking of coming to the show and need more info, click here. It’s definitely going to be a fun night and we would love to see you there.
I am sorry I was not around yesterday but I wound up spending the day with my pop and I didn’t want to take away from that time together. We had a great time and it had been a while since we spent an entire day together. I left everything set at work and headed out there. He had to go the doctor for a quick visit and then we went driving for a bit, watched some of the Olympics and then my sister came over with the kids so it turned into a whole family fest, it was a beautiful day indeed and I enjoyed it immensely. It was one of those days that felt like there was no rush to do anything, no pressure to do anything except enjoy the moment.
I want to congratulate Sunny, who was last week’s winner of the Add Your Caption Friday contest with her quote. “Do you think they will notice that we went to Disneyland?”
And today we have a new pic to caption and it’s absolutely adorable and for all you parents out there, I am sure you’ve had something similar happen in your life of parenthood. lol!
Have a beautiful day my friends and I will see you tonight
much love
